Dr. Robert Carlson grew up in many places, as his father was in the U.S. Army. Eventually his family settled in New Orleans. After graduating high school, Dr. Carlson proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. Upon his return from service, he began his dental career by earning his Associate of Dental Technology degree. Ultimately he decided to become a dentist because he wanted to be more involved in patient care. In 2004 Dr. Carlson received his bachelor’s degree in biological science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Soon after, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry.

With new dental techniques and technologies constantly being developed, Dr. Carlson believes that continuing education is vital to remaining a top dentist. He continues his own education with such prestigious organizations as the MISCH Institute, the Center for Advanced Dental Education, Progressive Orthodontics, Invisalign, CEREC and the Pankey Institute. Dr. Carlson is a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the LSU Alumni Association.

Dr. Carlson has been married to his wife Victoria for over 35 years, and together they have one daughter, Vivianne. His hobbies include woodworking, puzzles and games with his family, and outdoor activities like fishing and volleyball.
